Smartsome Wall Mounted Clothes Drying Rack – Space-Saving Fold Away Stainless Steel Rack, Easy to Install, 8 Rods (34″), 22.5 Linear Ft, 60 lb Capacity – Indoor & Outdoor Use

I have a tiny ‘L’ shaped laundry room that has only one section of blank wall and these fit perfectly. I bought two of these drying racks and they work so well, that I gave away my electric dyer. They fold in and out easily. When folded in they are very compact and out of the way. I added wood boards on the back for something solid to attach the racks too, as the studs in the wall were off center – the wood is screwed into the studs and then the racks are screwed into the wood. They hold a great deal of laundry. I’m able to fit two twin sheet sets (one set on each) along with two bath towels, and few smaller items like socks, kitchen towels etc.. Laundry loads that consist of no bedding, I can really pack a lot on these racks…. one rack alone I can fit all together: one jumbo bath towel, 4 pairs of my hubs unders, 3 to 4 t-shirts, pair of shorts, pair of pants, one of my house dresses, a blouse, 2 to 3 pairs of socks, a handful of kitchen towels, and I use the sides to hang 2 to 3 dress shirts on hangers, now times that by two racks and I get a lot of laundry done! Two great benefits I have found with using these racks is firstly, my clothes are lasting longer as they’re not getting beat up in a hot electric dryer. And secondly, my electric bill went down because I’m not using an electric dryer, but also my air conditioner doesn’t kick on as much from the heat generated by the dryer. These racks are worth every penny!

Mine lined up with the studs, so I didn’t use any of the included hardware, instead using 4 long pan-head screws I’ve been saving since the Clinton administration for just such a situation. I agree the template isn’t very accurate; what I would suggest is you start with just one mounting hole & screw for the upper left or right; with the rack hanging from that one screw, swing it to horizontal and use the actual bracket hole on the other side to mark where you’ll drill next. (All this assumes you’ve done the research as to what’s behind the wall in each place to mount to).Also, be wary of the wall-backet edges – I found them to be very sharp, so took off the sharpness with a fine file & sandpaper. Same for the slots in them used for the opening & closing mechanism, plus you could rub a little wax in each so the initial few openings and closings don’t feel so rough.The rack itself is nice-looking and sturdy, and I really enjoy the convenience of pulling it out as much as I need to easily hang stuff, then pushing it in to get it out of the way as much as possible while still leaving space for drying. Much better than the old swaying, clunky clothes rack I had been patching up for too long!UPDATE 2 & 1/2 years later, still looks and works great with almost daily use in the laundry room. (for stuff that doesn’t go in the dryer (plus – sometimes – extra, dry clothes piled on top from the dryer to free that up)). Did just slightly tighten a few screws, but can’t complain about that kind of low maintenance.UPDATE 4 yrs after purchase. One slightly loosened screw tightened by hand. This has to be one of my top Amazon purchases of all time. Does what it’s supposed to do every day and still looks new. Could not be more satisfied with it.
